ABOUT US

From humble beginnings with small-town roots, Cushman Meat Processing offers a one-stop shop for all of your meat processing needs. Whether you are looking to get your animal processed or looking to purchase a few cuts, we are here to serve you. Not only do we strive to provide you with a clean and quality product at an affordable price, but we aim to give you the inclusive small-town feel of our family-owned business.

A Clean and Quality Product

Since the very beginning, we have known the importance of a clean and quality product. At the beginning of each day, all equipment is inspected for cleanliness, and at the end of each day, more than an hour is spent cleaning all equipment. In order to ensure a quality product, the facility is temperature controlled and your product is handled with care.

From Humble Beginnings

More than 25 years ago, a young couple, simply trying to make ends meet, started processing deer out of their garage. Not knowing what the venture would become, Tom and Jane processed deer with the help of close family and friends. It wasn't long before the venture outgrew their garage, and they were forced to relocate to their barn. As the venture began to grow more, and after making improvements to their facility, they decided it was time to give their venture a name; it was at this time that Cushman Deer Processing, LLC was born.

As the newly formed business grew, so did the family. Each family member helped along the side of family friends as the meat processing business transformed from a processor of deer into a processor of many animals. After adding a walk-in cooler and smokehouse, the business started processing beef, hogs, and lambs and began offering smoke meats. It was at that time that Cushman Meat Processing was adopted as the new name.  It wasn't long after that Patrick joined Tom and Jane in ownership of the business as it's second generation of family ownership.

After nearly 20 years of operation, it was determined that the business had outgrown its facility. In 2010, construction began on an addition to the original building. The addition included a second walk-in cooler, more space to process meat, and a holding barn for animals to reside while on site.

During 2018, the business expanded once again, but this time, to introduce a new opportunity for us to serve our customers. After inspections and the construction of a store front, we began offering the ability for customers to purchase meat over the counter.

Today, we always keep those humble beginnings in mind along with all of those that have helped us along the way and those that continue to help today. As we continue to grow, we try to pass that growth to our community; for without the support of our great community, we would not be where we are today.
